Obituary

The famous voice behind Kandisa Alaap, renowned Percussionist, Tabla player and melodious vocalist of INDIAN OCEAN, Asheem Chakravarty has passed away. For all the music lovers it’s real heart breaking news. A real God Gifted Talent, Fusing Jazzy Rock with Indic Rhythms, was something like building a concrete bridge between two miles apart harbors. His unique rhythms which have created a signature sound of Indian Ocean will always be remembered.

Zeest team, feel his untimely death has created a major loss in music. As a Tribute to a very senior musician, all we can say:

“…But something touched me deep inside
the day the music died.”

The Zeest had belted out acoustically few of their songs from their upcoming album for Pakistani Music Channel PLAY TV’s new show “PEPSI MAX SO COOL MUSIC”. The first part of show was aired on PST 7:00 PM 1st July, 2008. the next episode featuring Zeest will be aired on PST 7:00 PM 8th July 2008
