An insight !

BC Sutta is a very controversial song. It has been around for almost 3 years now, yet it still arises questions in the mind of an average person. Let me tell you guys the story behind this song. Skip composed this song almost 6 years back, at the age of 17 that is. A 17 year old has so much on his mind, yet this particular child decided on taking another path. Skip, being a very heavy smoker, says he got the idea of “Sutta na mila” from his father. Being a non-smoker myself, I can easily understand how most of you feel. Some people are absolutely crazy about this song and can relate it with their everyday lives. On the other hand, some people hate it and find it very offensive. I was personally in the batch of the people who found it offensive.

Believe it or not, I’ve listened to so much music and I can now differentiate between good and bad. BC Sutta was in my list of bad until I thought about it deeply. Then I figured it isn’t that bad after all. The song merely speaks about the difficulties an average teenager goes through. The word Sutta symbolizes everything; substitute it with everyday ragging that we do, or pulling your friend’s leg, it all comes back to the little things in life that we can’t do. BC Sutta is like chocolate for a little child, who wants more and more deeply, yet can’t have it because his parents don’t permit him.

Skip’s parents have not listened to this song yet and have no clue about it. On the other hand, it is being played in pubs and bars in foreign countries. Accomplishing so much online is not something every other person can do. It is the nature of the song and the feel created by the background music that pulls a person towards itself. Having used instruments like just a guitar and a conga, the song has a very ancient feel to it and this is what makes it very special. It’s that particular feeling; it’s the essence of change, the essence of making a difference. All of this ties up to just one thing, Sutta na mila!

i dont know why people have to be so closed to everything new.
i didnt know the inspiration behind Sutta the first time i heard it about 2 years back….being a girl from a very decent middle class family, i never smoke and pretty much never swear….but this song never really sounded offensive as such and still made me laugh uncontrollably. It shows only what its meant to show…the frustration of the poor guy in a comical way.

Kudos to Skip… i dont know how,but the song lifts my spirits.
Im still listening to it while writing this…thanks for the great music…going back to sutta now…hahahaha
